7 Struggles For Women With Bigger Feet

Having larger feet is not a bad thing, however it can make everyday life more difficult. Being aware of those difficulties is the first step towards accepting and appreciating your body for what it is and to see all the beautiful traits about you.

1. LACK OF DIVERSITY IN STATIONARY STORES

How often have we all seen commercials with the cliché of the carefree woman who notices a beautiful shoe in the shop window, tries it on and then buys it? Shopping for shoes looks wonderfully easy. And for the majority of women, it is. Unfortunately, even nowadays it is almost impossible for women with bigger feet to share the same shopping experience. The lack of variety in boutiques and shopping malls makes shoe shopping a major challenge. Finding comfortable and fitting shoes that suit one's own style should not be a luxury.

2. YOU CANNOT ALWAYS EXPRESS YOUR STYLE THE WAY YOU WISH

This statement goes hand in hand with the lack of diversity in stores. Since many women who wear large shoes have little or no choice, they end up buying shoes they don't like. In brick and mortar stores, it is almost impossible to find oversized feminine footwear. Many of the women have to resort to men's shoes or very sporty models. In our opinion, however, every woman deserves to be able to dress as elegantly as she wants and to celebrate her femininity - regardless of the shoe size she wears.

 3. POINTED TOES ARE SIMPLY MUCH TOO TIGHT

Narrow and long pointed toe shapes are popular because of their elegant appearance and feminine style. Although these shoes look beautiful, they tend to elongate the foot, making feet that are already large appear even larger. So even if you buy pointed shoes in size 41 or up, they are usually too narrow for a slightly wider foot. Instead of making the foot look elegant and feminine, they are uncomfortable and can cause blisters.

4. TAKING OFF SKINNY JEANS BECOMES A REAL CHALLENGE

Skinny jeans are a favorite item of clothing for many women. They are easy to style and look chic. So, while the reasons for wearing it speak for themselves, undressing is a story in itself. And we're not just talking about the whole process being a literal workout. The most annoying thing that happens with skinny jeans is that the foot gets stuck. Don't worry, you are not the only one!

5. COMMENTS FROM OTHER PEOPLE

When someone or something is not up to the norm, people tend to make unnecessary comments. Having to deal with these opinions every day can have a huge impact on your self-esteem.

6. THE SEARCH FOR FITTING SOCKS

People who wear "normal" shoe sizes don't have to think too much when buying socks. However, it looks different for people with larger feet. As stretchy as they are, socks don't come in many different sizes. Pushing socks to their limits can put pressure on the toes and cause pain. Or who doesn't know the feeling when your short socks suddenly slip off your heels in summer?

7. "BEAUTY KNOWS NO PAIN"

With the mainstream media creating the ideal of a petite, short, and feminine woman, it is difficult to learn to accept yourself if one does not fit that description. Many women buy shoes that are too small, resulting in severe foot pain and difficulties in daily life. However, beauty shouldn't be associated with pain. So take care of yourself and your body – then beauty comes by itself.
